Two are tired. I watched until the fifth season (and then, I already missed the series), then the nonsense went, as for me. It became not interesting. The first three seasons are the best, then it became confusing and uninteresting (for me) and I abandoned it. DW watched for so long because of Klaus's relationship with Caroline and Damon's relationship with Elena. The plot was no longer important.
